Marketer of the Year!

Today I received a nice chunk of Lucite with my name on it. It reads: Marketer of the Year

I have to say that I was really surprised to hear that I had won the award. I had NO idea I was even nominated! It was a great awards ceremony. They wove it in with the performance of a husband-wife team of magic from a casino. Everyone got a good laugh at my expense. About twenty of my team showed up to cheer and enjoy the ridicule.

I wish the award would have given me "God-mode" powers for yanking bad design off the planet for a day. When I returned to my car after the ceremony there was a flyer for a local casino in Comic Sans MS typeface and two spelling errors.

The Northern Nevada Chapter of the American Marketing Association awarded three ACE awards, eight Certificates of Excellence and one Award of Excellence at the 16th annual ACE Awards event May 19, which honored the best in marketing in Northern Nevada.

AMANNV also named David LaPlante, CEO of Twelve Horses North America, as Marketer of the Year and inducted Lynn Atcheson, candidate for Washoe County Commission, into the Marketing Hall of Fame.

The Southwestern Oregon Chapter of the American Marketing Association judged the competition.
